The history of the Lajkonik company

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Austrian merchant Henryk Franck came to Skawina near Krakow. It was 1910 when he founded the Coffee Surrogate Factory and called it “Henry Franck and Sons”. Initially, they started producing chicory coffee, then cereal.

Mr. Henryk’s productions facilities developed dynamically, brought together more and more qualified employees, did not succumb to the global economic crisis and supplied an increasing number of delicious products.

After the war, the factory started producing concentrates, ready meals and spices, so that in 1970 they could focus on the production of crunchy snacks, coffee and other baked goods. Salty sticks, confectionery and iconic grain coffee were gaining more and more admirers

Finally, in 2012, the idea to open the Lajkonik Bakery and Café chain was born.
